What we offer

In partnership with universities, we create opportunities for students to gain practical experience, develop future-ready skills, connect with industry experts, and explore career opportunities at Swiss Re.

In-house Seminars

We offer two in-house seminars each academic year, designed to help students develop practical skills and gain insights into the world of (re)insurance. In the winter semester, students can enhance their interpersonal skills through Effective Communication, while the summer semester introduces the fundamentals of the (re)insurance industry through Introduction to (Re)insurance.

Ad-hoc Lectures at Universities

Throughout the academic year, Swiss Re experts and subject matter experts (SMEs) participate in guest lectures and interactive sessions at partner universities. Students work on real business challenges, applying theoretical knowledge to practical scenarios while developing critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration skills. These sessions provide valuable industry insights and help bridge the gap between academia and the professional world.

Guest Speakers & Industry Events

From university events to industry conferences such as OpenSlava, Swiss Re experts and leaders share their knowledge and experience through keynote speeches, panel discussions, and expert talks. Topics range from (re)insurance and financial trends to leadership, innovation, and emerging industry challenges.

Thesis Supervision

Selected students have the opportunity to work on thesis projects linked to real business topics under the guidance of Swiss Re professionals. This collaboration provides valuable industry exposure and may open doors to future career opportunities.

Impact in action Mission to Re(Insure) the World

What started as an ambitious idea evolved into a unique collaboration between Swiss Re, Zurich Insurance, and partner universities. Through the Mission: To (Re)Insure the World simulation, students stepped into the role of insurance professionals, working in teams to navigate real-world challenges, make strategic decisions, and experience the complexity of managing risk.

The initiative received highly positive feedback from participants and demonstrated how experiential learning can make complex industry concepts engaging, accessible, and memorable. It also strengthened relationships between academia and the industry, inspiring students to explore career opportunities in insurance and reinsurance.

Impact in action Swiss Re Chill Out Zone at EUBA

As part of our long-term partnership with the University of Economics in Bratislava (EUBA), Swiss Re has created a dedicated Swiss Re Chill Out Zone on campus. This modern student space offers a welcoming environment to study, collaborate, relax, and connect with peers.

The Chill Out Zone reflects our commitment to bringing Swiss Re closer to students and strengthening our presence in academia. Beyond creating a comfortable place for students, the space helps raise awareness of Swiss Re, our industry, and the career opportunities we offer. Through initiatives such as guest lectures, seminars, student projects, and campus events, we aim to connect academic learning with real-world business experience.

Impact in action International Business Consulting Program (IBCP)

As part of the International Business Consulting Program (IBCP) at the University of Economics in Bratislava (EUBA), Swiss Re collaborated with an international group of students from Slovakia and the United States on a real-life business challenge. Students were invited to review the University Council and develop recommendations for its future strategy, visibility, and impact.

Through close collaboration with Swiss Re colleagues, students gained hands-on experience working on a real business case, applying their academic knowledge to practical challenges and presenting their ideas to stakeholders. The initiative demonstrated the value of partnering with students and highlighted how fresh perspectives, creativity, and critical thinking can contribute to shaping future university engagement activities.
