Spark Internship Programme

A unique Bratislava-based internship programme developing emerging talent in Asset Management and Finance.

SPARK PROGRAMME & STRUCTURE Programme Overview & Structure

The Spark Internship offers university students a unique opportunity to join Swiss Re Bratislava for a two semester, 9 month learning journey beginning each September. Interns work approximately 20 hours per week as part time employees and are assigned to a business team based on their preferences, strengths, and academic background.

The Spark Internship follows a unified structure that combines hands on experience across Asset Management and Finance. Interns gain exposure to the core principles of both areas, working with real data, contributing to meaningful projects, and learning how investment management and financial reporting operate within a global company. This integrated approach ensures all interns benefit from a cohesive development experience while collaborating closely with Swiss Re professionals.

Throughout the programme, interns are supported by a dedicated core team and paired with a buddy who accompanies them for the full duration of the internship.

A Comprehensive Learning Journey through Key Programme Pillars

Beyond hands-on experience, Spark interns attend exclusive sessions led by Swiss Re professionals and leaders across departments. Interns also benefit from career counselling, social events, and informal networking with senior leaders, all designed to enhance their experience and career prospects.

To foster collaboration and industry insight, each intern is required to contribute to a Business Case project, addressing timely and relevant topics within the industry. At the conclusion of the internship, interns present their findings and insights to Swiss Re experts, receiving valuable feedback on their work.

Top performers in the programme are further rewarded with additional benefits, recognizing their exceptional contributions and dedication.
