Tobias Schiergens Senior Global Medical Officer CUO L&H Reinsurance

Prof. Dr. Tobias Schiergens joined Swiss Re in January 2021. After serving as Medical Officer for the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region being involved in various life insurance aspects across multiple markets, Tobias became a Senior Global Medical Officer and assumed responsibility as Head of Life Guide (Swiss Re's global L&H underwriting manual) and Medical Research in 2024. He is also one of the cancer experts at Swiss Re. Tobias has been the German International Committee for Insurance Medicine (ICLAM) bureau member since 2022 and serves on ICLAM's Scientific Committee.

After graduating from the University of Munich (LMU), Tobias completed a residency in surgery at the University Hospital Grosshadern in Munich. Prior to joining Swiss Re, he served at that facility as Head of the Colorectal Cancer Center.
