Swiss Re included in Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index for fourth consecutive year

Swiss Re is rewarded for its commitment to and transparency on gender equality.

Swiss Re is included as one of 418 companies across 45 countries and regions to join the 2022 Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index (GEI), a modified market capitalisation-weighted index that aims to track the performance of public companies committed to transparency in gender-data reporting. This reference index measures gender equality across five pillars: female leadership and talent pipeline, equal pay and gender pay parity, inclusive culture, anti-sexual harassment policies and pro-women brand.

This is the fourth year in a row that Swiss Re’s commitments and efforts to improve gender equality are being recognised by this external assessment. Companies in the 2022 Bloomberg GEI index scored at or above a global threshold established by Bloomberg, which reflects their gender-data transparency and achievement or adoption of best-in-class practices and policies.

“A diverse, equitable and inclusive workplace is core to our beliefs, and attracting diverse talent and improving gender equality are critical to our long-term business success. We’re committed to proactively improving gender equality across Swiss Re. Our continued inclusion in the Bloomberg GEI confirms we’re on the right track in taking actions and providing transparent measures that help us drive sustainable change", says Natasha Gill, Chief Diversity Officer

“We are proud to recognise Swiss Re and the other 417 companies included in the 2022 GEI for their commitment to transparency and setting a new standard in gender-related data reporting,” said Peter T. Grauer, Chairman of Bloomberg and Founding Chairman of the U.S. 30% Club. “Even though the threshold for inclusion in the GEI has risen, the member list continues to grow. This is a testament that more companies are working to improve upon their gender-related metrics, fostering more opportunity for diverse talent to succeed in their organisations.”
