The Digital & Technology department is globally responsible for building solutions for our business. We are diverse team of experts who are passionate in providing innovative solutions for our reinsurance business. We are currently investing in building strategic data management capabilities to ingest and harness key data sets across Swiss Re. We are looking to apply machine learning, AI, and data engineering to real-world problems.
 
If you join us, you will be able to participate in a variety of interesting initiatives. For example, you will:
 
•   Work with subject-matter experts  and analysts to develop automated  data extraction solutions for pricing data from structured & semi-structured sources.
•   Assess new and promising technologies from the AI world with regards to their business potential and technical maturity, particularly in the field of Natural Language Processing (NLP), Generative AI and MLOps.
•   Design and implement data products in collaboration with data users and other engineering teams.
•   Support many other exciting projects in a collaborative environment with colleagues from Swiss Re's international offices.

University education (Bachelor's degree)

Postgraduate (Doctorate)
 
Language skills:
English - Upper intermediate (B2)
 
About you
Nobody is perfect and meets 100% of the requirements. If you, however, meet some of the criteria below and are genuinely curious about the world of data and AI, we will be happy to meet you.

To be successful in the role, you need to have these technical skills and knowledge:
•   Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics or related field.
•   Working experience in Python.
•   Working experience in machine learning/statistics/natural language processing.
•   Ambition to build production grade data ingestion and transformation pipelines.
 
Additional advantages:
If you also have the following experience and interests, it is a huge plus:
•   Exposure to agile development approaches (e.g., Scrum) and familiarity with tools like Azure DevOps and Confluence.
•   Experience in building data ingestion and transformation pipelines, machine learning pipelines and their orchestration.
•   Interest in working close to data scientists and domain experts.
  
Minimum base salary for this job from 3300 EUR gross/month/full time. Our offer to you may be higher based on your skills and experience and will include additional rewards and benefits. We are required by law to disclose basic wage component (minimum salary) for the advertised positions. We carefully consider your professional competencies, qualifications and experience in our compensation package and/or when offering you other positions. Our compensation philosophy is to pay fairly, also considering market situation and the value employees may bring to Swiss Re.
