Description

For her wide-ranging multidisciplinary oeuvre, Perret draws on varied sources from the Arts and Crafts movement, Soviet Constructivism, Dada and Bauhaus to socialist utopias and feminist politics.

In discussing the small-scale panel paintings in gouache from more recent years, she explains, "There are so many different sources. In a way I am more interested in the succession of the images, in the way that one image comes after another, than in the image itself, although of course when I am making a particular painting I concentrate on it alone."
