How global initiatives and new technologies can strengthen resilience to climate change and pave the way to a net-zero future

Listen to our Group CEO and other industry leaders in discussion with the UN at Climate Week NYC.

Climate change continues to be one of the most pervasive threats to our planet, societies and economies.  It's also one of the biggest risks for the re/insurance industry and a top priority for Swiss Re and our clients. A key element in our Group Sustainability Strategy, action to address climate change is fundamental across our underwriting, our asset management and our own operations.

At this year's Climate Week, Group CEO, Christian Mumenthaler, joined Denis Duverne, Chairman of the Board of Directors, AXA Group and Ricardo Lara, California Insurance Commissioner, California Department of Insurance, in an interview series organised by UN Environment Programme’s Principles for Sustainable Insurance Initiative.

Watch Christian in conversation with Butch Bacani, Programme Leader, UN Environment Programme’s Principles for Sustainable Insurance Initiative, as they discuss ambitious and cutting-edge initiatives and actions on climate and other key sustainability issues for the insurance industry.
