Kent Chong joined Swiss Re in 2023 and is now Deputy Chief Medical Officer for Asia-Pacific, where he brings strategic medical expertise across life and health insurance. He plays a key role in shaping underwriting guidelines, insurance product design, portfolio risk management, research, and thought leadership across the region.
After leaving his clinical career in a Malaysian government hospital, Kent transitioned into insurance medicine in 2014 and has since held senior roles in underwriting, claims, and medical advisory within insurers and reinsurers. Prior to Swiss Re, he was based in Singapore in a regional reinsurance role focused on the intersection of medicine, risk, and insurance sustainability.
Kent holds an MBBS from Manipal University (Malaysia) and is currently pursuing a Master of Public Health at the National University of Singapore, reflecting his interest in epidemiology, health policy, and systems thinking, and enabling him to translate population health insights into sustainable insurance solutions.
