Bess Ganeff is a Senior Vice President and the Head of Underwriting for the Americas Life & Health Products team.
As Head of Underwriting Americas, Bess will be focused on maintaining our strong risk management culture and ensuring our facultative services are delivered in an efficient, profitable, and sustainable way to our clients.
She joined Swiss Re in 2015 as an Underwriting Manager, facilitating facultative case submissions and managing a team of underwriters. In December 2020 she took on the operational role, working to ensure the smooth execution of projects, processes, and governance across the Americas Life & Health Products division.
Before joining Swiss Re, Bess underwrote individual life insurance on the direct side for over 10 years, as well as gained industry experience working as a case manager and contracting/licensing specialist for a brokerage agency in Chicago. She has been a member of the Midwestern Underwriting Conference (MUC) Committee since 2016 and a member of the AHOU Program Committee since 2019.
Bess graduated with a B.A. in Literary Studies from Beloit College in Beloit, WI. In her free time, she enjoys reading, hiking, and spending time with her husband, friends, and daughter.
