In David Renggli’s practice the notions of equilibrium and balance, both physically and conceptually, are principles that inform both the production phase and the perception of the final works. The forms derive from the juxtaposition of contrasting and incompatible worlds in terms of values. The main references are the canonical language of contemporary art and the banalities proposed by the merchandise linked to the world of culture. Through this overlapping of altered references, the work offers multiple interpretations and plays with the ambiguity of verisimilitude.
