Description

Walter Pfeiffer is one of the key predecessors of the "snapshot" style established in photography during the 1980s and 1990s by artists like Nan Goldin, Jürgen Teller or Wolfgang Tillmans. Pfeiffer's mastery is apparent in these two untitled photographs from 2006 and 2007.

Marked by his strong sense for the moment, for accidental details and for casual arrangements, these images show an elaborate sense for colour and composition. "I'm always spontaneous", Pfeiffer says. "I don't even have a map with ideas. I just shoot."
