Description

One of the most consistent aspects of Mullican's oeuvre is his visually schematic personal cosmology that features his specially devised symbols and pictograms which he calls 'signs'. In this work he superimposed differently coloured globes on top of four black and white mountainous backdrops.

For Mullican, each colour has meaning: yellow represents creative ideas, red represents the subjective, while green evokes the elemental world.
