Description

Meschac Gaba's Citoyen du Monde from 2012 is based on all the national flags of the world. As if being swallowed, they all vanish in one central point in the middle of the picture plane. Witty, funny, yet with a clear political agenda, Gaba is not only commenting on the outdated idea of the nation state. Furthermore, his work proposes a new flag made out of the old ones. This time, though, it is a truly global and international one – one that could unite all of humanity.
