Description

For her so-called Unstable Talismanic Renderings, Kerstin Brätsch joins forces with artisan Dirk Lange, a specialist in the technique of marbling, commonly used to adorn the inside covers of books. For this age-old, almost alchemistic practice, different colours and chemicals are added into a water bath and then transferred onto paper. Substituting the stroke of the brush with a drop of paint, this technique allows Brätsch to take a step back from traditional painting and to dip into a different history of abstraction.
