Swiss Re publishes Sustainability Report 2025
12 Mar 2026
On 12 March, Swiss Re published the Sustainability Report 2025, which includes the company's Climate Transition Plan. The report has now been integrated into the Group's Annual Report.
Sustainability is an integral part of Swiss Re’s Group strategy, and is fully embedded across our business activities. During the reporting year, Swiss Re conducted a Group Materiality Assessment, which reaffirmed the two sustainability ambitions, building societal resilience and supporting the net-zero transition, as key pillars of the updated Group Sustainability Strategy 2026–2028.
The Sustainability Report 2025 highlights progress made in implementing the Group Sustainability Strategy during the reporting year. As part of our ambition to build societal resilience, we continued to provide risk transfer products and solutions that support disaster resilience and provide access to life and health protection. Additionally, we remain committed to achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, in line with Swiss legal requirements. Swiss Re met all externally communicated sustainability targets for 2025, while maintaining our interim and long-term climate targets. Further, Swiss Re’s strong sustainability performance continues to be reflected in external ESG ratings.
For a comprehensive overview of Swiss Re’s performance in 2025, the Sustainability Report, the Highlights slides and the downloadable Excel data should be read in conjunction with the full Annual Report.
The Sustainability Report 2025 is published in accordance with the legal reporting requirements in Switzerland, has received independent limited assurance from KPMG, and was approved by Swiss Re’s Board of Directors on 11 March 2026. The Sustainability Report is subject to a consultative vote at the Annual General Meeting in April 2026.
