Weijia Yao joined the Swiss Re Institute as an Economist in November 2021, based in Hong Kong. Her main areas of research coverage are the economies and insurance markets of Japan, Hong Kong and Taiwan. Before joining the Swiss Re, Yao worked as a research analyst for the IMF and the World Bank. She holds a master's degree from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies, majoring in International Relations and Economics.
