Ute Michaelsen is the Head of P&C Facultative for Swiss Re in North America, a position she has held since 2016, and is based in the New York City area. She has held senior positions at Swiss Re in both P&C client and broker relationship management as well as leading Operations and Finance teams.
The Facultative unit has production and underwriting responsibility for property, casualty and specialty lines catering to global clients as well as regional companies, and operates through both the direct and broker channel with major hubs in New York, Chicago, Atlanta and Toronto.
Before joining Swiss Re, Ute worked at a number of leading financial institutions in the US and Europe in positions in private banking and institutional-asset management. She has dual German-Swiss citizenship and holds a degree from the Commercial School for the Banking and Insurance Industry in Bremen, Germany.
