Thomas holds a Doctorate (Dr. rer. sec.) from the University of Wuppertal (Institute Safety Engineering), a Diploma (Dipl.-Ing) in Chemical Engineering from the University of Dortmund and a Diploma (Dipl. Wirt. Ing.) in Insurance from the Technical University of Cologne.
