Theodor Bachmann is Managing Director and Head of Underwriting Excellence in Property & Casualty Reinsurance. His team focuses primarily on enabling the P&C Reinsurance underwriting approaches, building and maintaining the P&C Reinsurance costing infrastructure, ensuring contract and wording consistency, advising the underwriting community on key challenges and driving key global initiatives.
Theodor joined Swiss Re in 2007 to drive the external strategy within the claims function and then held the role of Head of Key Case Management till June 2017. Previously he was Head of Retrocession & Portfolio Management at Converium and spent 9 years in various senior Retrocession/Risk Management positions in GE Insurance Solutions.
In addition, Theodor currently is chairman of the Ruschlikon ePlacing community that drives global standardization in the re/insurance industry.
Theodor was born in 1971 and is a German citizen. He holds a Diploma in Mathematics from the Ludwig-Maximilian University in Munich, Germany.
