Tamas Bown Head L&H Re APAC ex China

Tamas Bown is Swiss Re's Head Life & Health APAC ex China, based in Singapore. Prior to this, he was Head Life & Health UK & Ireland, following the role of Head L&H Structured Solutions EMEA where he led the Zurich, UK and Luxembourg teams responsible for structuring and executing non-traditional reinsurance transactions for all EMEA insurance clients. During this time, Tamas was a member of Swiss Re's EMEA Life & Health regional management group and the SRE legal entity Management Committee. Until 2016, he spent over 3 years in Tokyo leading Swiss Re Japan's L&H business and chairing the Asia L&H Origination Committee. 

Otherwise based in London, Tamas has worked for Swiss Re since 2003, notably in the Client Markets team where he was responsible for actuarial marketing to global UK L&H clients and their overseas subsidiaries. In this role, he had a particular focus on large transactions, longevity reinsurance, and risk and capital management. Prior to this, Tamas worked in the capital management team involved in solvency and economic balance sheet reporting, ALM, UK ICA and Solvency II development. He also spent time leading the employee benefits Group Risk Underwriting team and in the protection product pricing function.
