Susan Gibson Chief Executive Officer Canada Life Assurance Europe

Susan Gibson is Chief Executive Officer at Canada Life Assurance Europe, which is part of the Great-West Lifeco group of companies, one of the world’s leading life assurance organisations, and has been in role since May 2023. She works with the Board and teams based in Germany and Dublin to build stronger, more inclusive, and financially secure futures for Customers and Advisers in the German market through unique financial advice solutions.

Prior to her current role, Susan was Chief Digital & Innovation Officer at Irish Life Group, where she led the development of digitally supported advice and analytics-driven propositions and preceding that held a number of strategy and market development leadership roles in the retail and institutional investment arenas. Susan has been a founding member of innovation acceleration bodies, a champion of Plug & Play’s European Insurtech program, and has served on several internal Group boards.

Susan is an advocate for learning and talent development, with a particular interest in supporting the development of Women in leadership and on top of her Bachelor of Business Studies Degree and MBA, has attended executive programmes at MIT and Harvard Business School.
