Steven was appointed as Head of Pricing, Life & Health Swiss Re Japan as of 1 April 2023 and has 22+ years of experience in Reinsurance, Insurance and Pension Consulting. He joined Swiss Re Japan in January 2016.
Under his leadership his team delivers differentiated solutions for traditional and structured reinsurance pricing as well as innovative product development.
Prior to his current role he worked as the Head of Client Markets, Life & Health Swiss Re Japan leading the client franchise and prior to that as the Head of Financial Solutions, Life & Health Swiss Re Japan focusing on the implementation of tailored structured reinsurance solutions for Capital & Risk Management.
Before joining Swiss Re Japan, he worked for 12 years across Europe at a direct insurer. There his varied career included being Chief Actuary of Hungary, implementing a new Shared Service centre in Poland and leading the enhancement of Economic Capital capabilities in Italy and London.
Steven is a British national, qualified as a UK actuary (FIA), a Chartered Enterprise Risk Actuary (CERA) and holds a BSc in Mathematics from Durham University. Steven is a fan of rugby union and is a father of two young children.
