Sophia Reich Head Casualty Treaty UW WSE & MEA Alternative Capital Partners

Sophia Reich is Head of Motor at Swiss Re, where she leads the company's global Motor Treaty Reinsurance portfolio. Sophia leads a multidisciplinary team and together they are responsible for portfolio strategy, risk appetite and performance, shaping underwriting excellence across the global Motor business.

Sophia joined Swiss Re in 2016 through the graduate programme. She began her career as a Casualty Treaty Underwriter before joining the Retro Structuring team, where she became Head of Man-Made Retro Structuring. She later returned to underwriting as Head of Casualty Treaty Underwriting for Western and Southern Europe, the Middle East and Africa, leading the regional underwriting team before assuming her current role.

With 10 years of experience at Swiss Re and an international background shaped by living and working across several countries, Sophia brings expertise in underwriting, portfolio steering, capital solutions and reinsurance structuring. She is passionate about helping Swiss Re and its clients navigate the evolving motor insurance and reinsurance landscape, combining a global perspective with local market insights.

Sophia holds a Master of Science in Finance from the University of Cologne and a CEMS Master's in International Management.
