Simon Wegmann Sr Marine Specialist & Innovation Lead CUO P&C Reinsurance

Simon is a Senior Marine Specialist and leads the global Marine Innovation Network.

He started his career at Swiss Re in 2007. After successful completion of his apprenticeship, he joined XL Insurance in the Casualty Underwriting department. After re-joining the Marine Reinsurance team at Swiss Re in 2012, Simon took responsibility for Swiss Re's Marine facultative and treaty business emanating from selected markets in the Middle East and Africa.

 

In his current role, he works in the Specialty Centre and is in charge of analysing and steering Swiss Re's global marine portfolio, providing guidance to underwriters and developing new, innovative business opportunities. His main focus areas include business development, strategy and ESG.

Simon holds a BSc in Business Administration with specialisation in risk and insurance and is based in Swiss Re's Zurich office.
