Sharad Mahamia is the Head of Underwriting and Claims at the Swiss Re India Branch and a member of the Branch Executive Team.
He joined Swiss Re in December 2021 and brings more than two decades of experience in the life insurance industry. Sharad has held senior Leadership and specialist roles across underwriting, claims management, new business operations, medical network oversight, reinsurance administration, underwriting transformation, and customer services.
Sharad holds a degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences and commenced his career in pharmaceutical sales, where he spent over three years before transitioning into life insurance.
He is a strong advocate of automation and digital transformation and has played a key role in supporting the development and implementation of underwriting and claims solutions aligned with operational efficiency and risk management objectives.
Sharad has been a treasurer at AIU and associated with UW and Claims communities.
