At the Ministry of Finance, Saurabh is responsible for all policy matters relating to General and Health Insurance sector including PSU and private General & Health Insurers, Reinsurers (FRBs) and Insurance Intermediaries;
and legislative and administrative oversight of 6 PSU General Insurers, including GIC Re. Saurabh's remit also includes topics related to digital (cyber, Fintech and InsurTech) across the financial services sector. He is the Chief Information Security Officer and Technology Officer for the Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Finance, and holds the additional charge
for CERSAI as its Managing Director & CEO - a fully government-owned technology entity managing national digital registries for Security Interest (SI) and Central Know-Your-Client (CKYC). Saurabh also serves as the Government Nominee Director on the Board of National Insurance Company Limited.
Saurabh has over 25 years of experience in the financial services sector in Indian and overseas markets. Before taking charge at the Government of India, Saurabh worked with Willis Towers Watson (WTW) as Head of Client Management & Banking, Financial Services Industry (BFSI) Leader, India. Saurabh also served on the board of Willis Towers Watson, India (WTWIPL) as its While-time Director and acted as the Country Representative for the Asia CFT (Client-facing Technology) Engagement Board. Previously, Saurabh was the Group CEO of Muscat Insurance Company SAOG ((erstwhile Muscat National Company SAOG) based at Oman.
