Samrat Dua has been appointed Chief Innovation & Transformation Officer and member of the Corporate Solutions Executive Committee with effect from 1 July 2019.

In this role, Samrat is responsible for leading innovation across Corporate Solutions, as well as driving digital transformation and the digital delivery of products and services.

Joining Swiss Re in 2005, Samrat started as Director of Information Technology where he oversaw Architecture for Swiss Re Life & Health (L&H) Reinsurance US and UK between 2005 and 2008, and Architecture for Swiss Re Asset Management between 2008 and 2011. Most recently, he served as Head of Corporate Solutions IT and Co-Head Primary Lead. Samrat oversaw the Business Unit's IT function since 2011. He assumed responsibility as Co-Head for the Primary Lead Initiative in 2015 and responsibility as Chief Digital Officer in 2017.

Prior to joining Swiss Re, Samrat was a Manager of Consulting Services at Capgemini, Ernst & Young, where he focused on the healthcare insurance and financial services sectors, managing large teams to deliver business services to clients. He began his career as a Senior Systems Analyst at Indus Consultancy Services focusing on technology consulting for the financial services sector.

Samrat holds a Bachelor's degree in Technology and Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology in New Delhi, a Master's degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Delaware in Newark, and an MBA from the Leonard N. Stern School of Business at New York University.
