Remo Steinmetz is Head of Swiss Re Institute Client Engagement. His team develops conferences and programmes for clients and governments. Before he headed Client & Functional Training at Swiss Re Academy. He was responsible for the insurance and reinsurance training in Property and Casualty, Life and Health, and Finance and Project Management at Swiss Reinsurance Company.
From 2004 to 2007 he was Vice-Consul, diplomat and Senior Advisor for Education and Academic Affairs with the Consulate of Switzerland swissnex in Boston. Remo’s efforts were focused on fostering the links between universities and scientific communities in the United States and Switzerland.
Previously he served six years as director of the postgraduate education in spatial and urban planning (MAS Raumplanung) at ETH Zurich, Switzerland. Under his direction, the study became one of the most successful postgraduate programs of ETH Zurich.
1992 to 1998 he worked at the Zurich-based consulting and engineering company EBP, where he led projects in the field of transportation and urban planning in Switzerland and Germany. Remo Steinmetz holds a Master of Science in Geography (MSc) from University of Zurich.
