Pascal Marmier is Head of Engagement Americas for the Swiss Re Institute. The Institute develops and publishes industry-relevant research from internal experts and external partners and engages with stakeholders by sharing insights, tailored services and products to enable risk-focused decision making and smarter solutions to manage risk.

In his previous job at Swiss Re, Pascal was part of the Digital Analytics Catalyst team working on new business opportunities in fields such as digital health, IoT, insurtech and cyber.
Before joining Swiss Re, Pascal spent close to 20 years as a diplomat focused on tech and innovation. He was the CEO and Vice Consul General of Switzerland in Shanghai at swissnex China, a private–public partnership dedicated to facilitating collaboration between China and Switzerland in all fields related to science, technology and innovation. Being passionate about helping entrepreneurs and innovators, Pascal developed many programs for startup and corporate executives looking to grow their teams and partnerships in tech hotspots. Previously, Pascal helped start and develop swissnex Boston, a unique venture of the Swiss government in the field of science diplomacy aiming at creating a strong community of leading universities and companies.
Pascal holds an LL.M. in Business Law from Boston University. At the start of his career, he worked as an attorney on international transactions with KPMG in Switzerland. He obtained his Masters in Law from University of Lausanne and later graduated from the Sloan Fellows program (MBA) at MIT Sloan School of Management with a focus on global innovation.
