Nicola Parton Chief Operating Officer P&C Reinsurance Property & Casualty Reinsurance

Nicola was appointed Chief Operating Officer for P&C Re and member of the P&C Reinsurance Executive Committee with effect from 3 April 2023.

As COO, Nicola leads a global COO organisation comprising Business Operations, Business Excellence, Claims, In-Force and Transactions Management. She is responsible for the continued modernisation of P&C Re’s global end-to-end operational platform and operating model, leveraging scale, data and technology to enhance efficiency, strengthen insights and deliver a differentiated client experience.

Nicola also leads P&C Re’s “Advance with AI” agenda, driving the integration of AI into core underwriting and claims capabilities to augment decision-making and transform how the business operates. In February 2026, she assumed an expanded role as Group AI Business Lead at Swiss Re, supporting the acceleration of AI adoption and impact across the enterprise.

Nicola joined Swiss Re in 2003 and has held several senior leadership roles, including Head of P&C Business Management and Global Head of Claims for Swiss Re Corporate Solutions. During her time at Corporate Solutions, she led a range of strategic initiatives, including the launch of Primary Lead and International Business offerings, client retention and portfolio management strategies, and the development of an industry-leading claims service approach.

Nicola is a dual citizen of Great Britain and New Zealand. She holds a BA/LLB (Hons) from the University of Auckland, New Zealand.
