Michele Cibrario, born in Italy, joined Swiss Re in 2016 and held until 2023 senior underwriting positions for Marine&Energy and Aviation Lines of business. From 2022 he is also Product Centre specialist for Energy Upstream. In 2023 he took over Renewable Energy responsibility as a Co-Head within Engineering with a global remit. Previously worked as Insurance Risk Manager for Upstream for a global integrated energy company for about ten years.
Michele is a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute of the United Kingdom and has teached at the Eni Corporate University in Milan, Italy, and is a regular lecturer at the Swiss Re Academy which is Swiss Re's internal & external training center. In addition, he is the Vice-Chair of the Offshore Energy Committee of the International Union of Marine Insurers (IUMI) and publishes regularly articles in the technical insurance press.
Michele Hold an MBA in economics of Energy and the Environment and holds further executive specialisation in Renewable Energy.
