Michael Ewald Earthquake Perils Lead CUO P&C Reinsurance

Michael Ewald joined SwissRe in 2018 and works in the Cat Perils R&D team as Earthquake Peril Lead. In this position, he coordinates and mentors research activities and model developments carried out by CatPerils regional teams in Armonk, Bangalore and Zurich for all geological perils.

Before joining SwissRe he worked 12 years at PartnerRe developing earthquake risk models for all major peril zones. Michael holds a PhD in seismology from LMU University in Munich.
