  • Certifying Actuary for Swiss Re's legal entity in Singapore established in 2018. This role covers both L&H and P&C businesses.
  • Director of Swiss Re Life and Health Australia (From January 2019 to February 2023)
  • Advisory Board member of both the Swiss Re Asia Ltd Australia Branch and Swiss Re Corporate Solutions Australia and the Senior Officer outside of Australia for the Swiss Re Asia Ltd Australian Branch. These roles are all P&C. (From January 2019 to February 2023)


1999 – 2017 - Swiss Reinsurance Company, Zurich

2012-2017

  • Group Chief Actuary with responsibility for Group Actuarial Control for both L&H and P&C reserving risks.
  • “Accountable Actuary” (Statutory Actuary) for the legal entity Swiss Reinsurance Company, Zurich. This Company is the main writer of insurance risk in Swiss Re Group.
  • Director of Reassure UK. (Swiss Re Co. in UK)
  • Director of Pension Insurance Corporation Group (UK Bulk annuity writer)
  • From 2015-17, Vice Chairperson for the Insurance Regulation Committee of the International Actuarial Association (IAA). This appointment was made after having served 12 years on various IAA committees including 6 years as Chairperson of the Reinsurance Committee.

2008 - 2012

  • Chief Risk Officer for Life and Health business across Swiss Re Group. Responsibility for L&H Risk Management and valuation of L&H reserves. Global team of approximately 200 people.
  • Group Chief Actuary with responsibility for Group Actuarial Control both L&H and P&C.
  • From year-end 2007 was appointed the “Accountable Actuary” for the legal entity Swiss Reinsurance Company, Zurich.
  • Director of Swiss Re International and Swiss Re Europe, both Luxembourg based (until mid-2010).
  • From 2009 a Director of Windsor Life, Barclays Life and Admin Re UK, all UK based companies. (Following restructuring, the Company was renamed ReAssure UK)

2005 – 2008

  • Head of Corporate Actuarial / Group Chief Actuary with global responsibility for the calculation of the reserves for both Life and Health and Property and Casualty businesses. Global team of approximately 250 people.
  • In 2006 was part of the team considering the possible acquisition of GEIS with responsibility for the assessment of their P&C reserves. The Company was subsequently acquired by Swiss Re.
