Professional experience

Martin Zingg started his career at Union Bank of Switzerland in Zurich, where he held various roles in country and counterparty risk management before joining Swiss Re as a financial analyst in 1995. Over the next 15 years, he held a range of investment leadership positions across Zurich, San Francisco and Hong Kong, including Head Alternative Investments Asia and Global Head Private Equity. In 2010, Martin Zingg joined Catlin Group as Chief Investment Officer based in Zurich and New York. Since rejoining Swiss Re in New York in 2015, he has held a range of leadership positions including Head of Alternative Investments, Co-Head Strategic Asset Allocation & Markets, Chief Investment Officer for Swiss Re Corporate Solutions (in a dual role), and Head Private Investment & Corporate Development spearheading the buildout of Swiss Re's private investments portfolio and corporate development agenda. In his most recent role as Group Head Corporate Development & Capital Markets he was responsible for the Group M&A agenda and alternative capital activities, including oversight of the third-party ILS investment management business.

Martin Zingg was appointed Group Chief Investment Officer and member of the Group Executive Committee as of October 2026.
