Martin Bühler Head Large Loss Management COO P&C Reinsurance

Martin Bühler is Head Large Loss Management at Swiss Re, where he leads a global team responsible for assessing and steering some of the company’s largest and most complex claims. His portfolio spans more than 70 major events across regions and P&C lines of business, representing approximately USD 3 billion in IBNR, and has included landmark events such as COVID-19 and the war in Ukraine.

With more than 15 years of experience at Swiss Re, Martin has held roles across claims, analytics and transformation. He is a member of Swiss Re’s Global Claims Leadership Team and regularly contributes the claims perspective at conferences, in publications, podcasts and webinars.

Martin holds a BSc in Business Administration with a major in International Management and is a Chartered Insurer with the Chartered Insurance Institute in London.
