Mariana Medina Underwriter Global Specialty Reinsurance

With an actuarial background and more than seven years of experience in the insurance and reinsurance industry, Mariana Medina has built her career at Swiss Re, specializing in Treaty underwriting across Latin America and the Caribbean.

Based in Mexico City, she has developed extensive expertise in Casualty reinsurance, managing and underwriting treaty portfolios across the region before focusing on key markets such as Brazil, Mexico, and Puerto Rico. Her experience spans treaty structuring, portfolio management, pricing, and contract wording analysis, with a particular focus on Liability and Financial Lines.

In her current role, Mariana is responsible for P&C treaty business in Mexico and Central America, working closely with clients, brokers, and internal stakeholders to deliver reinsurance solutions tailored to evolving market needs and complex risk environments.
