Maria oversees Life & Health (re)insurance product design and development for public sector clients, such as municipal/national governments, multi-lateral development banks, and sovereign owned enterprises. She works closely with partners such as insurance companies, NGO's, digital health providers, and microfinance institutions. She brings global expertise of social resilience initiatives in the Middle East & Africa, as well as Asia Pacific Region.
Maria has over 12 years of experience in the life & health insurance industry. She has previously worked on IFRS 17 implementation, economic valuation, pricing, and capital management. She has worked in different markets, and interacted with various functions such as investments, finance, accounting, and marketing.
Maria is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and the Canadian Institute of Actuaries. She is Co-Chair of the Corporate Life Subcommittee at the Canadian Institute of Actuaries Continuous Education Committee since July 2024, and Chair of the Society of Actuaries International Section Council for term 2024-2025.
