Luiz Bueno is the Head of Life & Health for Iberia & Italy at Swiss Re, leading client relationships and strategic initiatives. His expertise spans product development, pricing and financial solutions, supporting insurers in addressing growth, capital and risk management challenges. Luiz joined Swiss Re's Madrid office in 2017 as Client Manager for Life & Health Iberia, responsible for the reinsurance business in Spain and Portugal.
Prior to that, he spent four years in São Paulo as Development Actuary for Brazil and Latin America, contributing to the design and implementation of innovative Life & Health solutions across the region.
He is a member of the Brazilian Institute of Actuaries (IBA) and has pursued the actuarial qualification pathway with the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA) in the UK. Passionate about the application of actuarial science to business, Luiz is also the author of a book on statistical modelling published in 2017. Throughout his 17-year career, he has remained committed to helping insurers build sustainable growth and resilience through innovative reinsurance and risk management solutions.
