Julie Stephenson joined Swiss Re on October 1, 2021, as Global Head Casualty Reinsurance and a member of the Reinsurance Management Team. Julie is an accomplished leader with over 25 years of underwriting and portfolio management experience, with a strong concentration in casualty.
Julie joined Swiss Re from CNA where she served as a Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Middle Market. She joined CNA in 2015 as the Commercial Chief Underwriting Officer responsible for profitability, portfolio management and underwriting governance for all of CNA's commercial property and casualty business. Prior to joining CNA, Julie served as Senior Vice President and Global Liability Manager for Chubb and was responsible for the strategic direction of the portfolio across all global markets. She also served in a number of underwriting management positions at Chubb, including several years as a Risk Control Engineer.
Julie earned a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University. She's currently based in Texas.
