He leads a team of 23 highly skilled Engineering underwriters based in key regional hubs including Beijing, Seoul, Hong Kong, Singapore, KL and Mumbai. Prior to his current appointment, Jimmy was Head of Engineering Underwriting for Greater China and Japan.
Under his leadership, Swiss Re’s Asia Engineering team has earned a reputation as one of the leading professional reinsurers in Engineering segment. Beyond providing reinsurance capacity, the team delivers tailored risk transfer solutions and technical advisory services to support the growth and development of primary insurers. These services include high-standard risk management consulting, underwriting training, new insurance product development and innovative solutions—particularly in support of renewable energy development.
The team has been consistently selected as lead reinsurer for major infrastructure projects such as the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge, Metro projects, Offshore wind farm, and Nuclear Power Project.
Jimmy began his career as a mechanical engineer at power generation Industry after earning his Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Hong Kong. He joined Swiss Re in 1998 and brings over two decades of experience in engineering underwriting and risk management.
