Jessica joined Swiss Re as the Senior Medical Officer, L&H Americas in August 2025. In her role, she brings clinical and underwriting expertise to risk selection, claims, training, and innovation across the region. She is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Obesity Medicine and has more than seven years of experience in life insurance medicine.
Dr. Braswell earned her medical degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook and completed her residency at MedStar Washington Hospital Center in Washington D.C., where she also served as chief resident. Before entering the life insurance industry, she practiced primary care in New York City and taught clinical skills as an adjunct professor at the City University of New York School of Medicine.
Prior to joining Swiss Re, Dr. Braswell supported underwriting modernization at New York Life Insurance Company. She continues to champion the evolution of medical underwriting through evidence-based practice, education, and strategic modernization as part of the global team of medical officers.
