Hernan Fatone is Head of Property & Casualty Reinsurance for Southern Europe and Country President of Swiss Re in Spain. He brings over 30 years of experience within the Swiss Re Group, with a strong and well-established track record across the Iberian and Italian markets.
He began his career in Argentina as a Life Underwriter and went on to build an extensive career of more than 20 years leading Life and Health underwriting in Europe. In this role, he played a pivotal part in the development, growth, and consolidation of the Life and Health business across the region. Prior to his current appointment, Hernan served as Global Key Account Manager at Swiss Re, where he managed strategic relationships with some of the Group’s Global clients.
Hernan holds a Bachelor Degree in Insurance from Universidad Argentina de la Empresa and has completed the Business Strategy and Financial Performance programme at INSEAD.
He is recognized for combining deep technical expertise with strategic vision and a collaborative leadership style to drive innovation and strengthen resilience across the global reinsurance sector.
