Gregory Barton is Group Head of Contracts & Wordings Services at Swiss Re. He leads the global team responsible for the strategy, design and delivery of solutions that support the end-to-end contract lifecycle, including wording review, search and retrieval, and wording analytics across Swiss Re's business units.
His team works with underwriting, contracts and portfolio management communities to improve contract quality, strengthen control, provide portfolio insights, and drive standardisation and automation across contract processes. A key focus of Greg's work is applying AI and analytics to enhance contract governance, underwriting decision-making and operational efficiency.
Greg joined Swiss Re in 2011 and has held leadership roles in reinsurance strategy, contract operations, analytics and digital transformation. Prior to Swiss Re, he held transformation and process excellence roles at Bank of America and Genpact. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Osmania University, India, and is a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and Prosci-certified Change Management practitioner.
