Gianni began his career at Swiss Re in 1995 in the Aviation department and joined the management team in 1999. He was appointed Business Expert in Aviation Treaty Underwriting in 2005. In 2015, he led the development of the first fully digital parametric flight delay product launched in the UK and China. Since 2016, Gianni has been leading Swiss Re’s digital parametric platform development team. In 2017, he became Head of Parametric and Emerging Solutions and joined Swiss Re’s management team for Property & Casualty Solutions. In 2018, he was promoted to Head of Property and Specialty Solutions, collaborating with global clients, brokers, FinTech, and startups, and overseeing NatCat tools for underwriters and brokers worldwide.
In 2021, Gianni joined the Special Risks team, focusing on embedded insurance products, including affinity and embedded parametric products.
Gianni holds a degree in economics from the University of Zurich. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters, and playing badminton and tennis.
