Elena Ruano Cusac Contracts Specialist Guy Carpenter

Elena started her career in insurance at WTW in 2019, where she worked as a qualified Spanish translator and contracts drafter. She had the opportunity to acquire knowledge in contract law, regulatory compliance, and an understanding of the intricate issues across the Latin America region and lines of business, as well as performing translation tasks.

In her current position at Guy Carpenter as a Contracts Specialist in the Latin America and Caribbean region, she has been shaping the management and drafting of reinsurance programs in the region across a varied portfolio of clients. She is responsible for improving the quality of reinsurance documentation and providing technical training across the local offices, specializing on P&C.

She holds a BA (Hons) in Translation and Interpreting with Modern Languages from the University of Granada (Spain) and is currently pursuing a Postgraduate Diploma in Law at the University of Birkbeck, London. She is also a member of the Chartered Insurance Institute (Cert II).

Passionate about social mobility, Elena is the Inclusion and Diversity Officer at Next Generation Insurance Network (NGIN), an association in the city of London that works to create an inclusive workplace and empower young professionals to pursue a career in insurance.

Her hobbies include running across London to find the best cinnamon roll, dancing on Friday evenings, traveling the world while reading case law, and adjusting her chakras through yoga practice.
