Dr. Dominik Renggli joined Swiss Re in 2011. He is a Senior Product Manager in the Reinsurance Solutions unit based in Zurich. In his role, he is responsible for the commercialization of Swiss Re's natcat models and expertise. Prior to this, he was Peril Lead for Atmospheric Perils with Swiss Re's CatPerils team who develops and maintains Swiss Re's proprietary natcat models.
Since his on-board, Dr. Renggli has been working on topics related to natural catastrophes and climate change, bridging the gap between cutting edge science and the daily application in insurance-related risk assessment. He has contributed to many of the risk assessment models for natural catastrophes used by Swiss Re today. In 2019, he moved to the Solutions unit, helping clients to improve their natcat business management with products based on Swiss Re's tools, knowhow, and expertise.
Before joining Swiss Re, Dr. Renggli was a researcher at the Institute for Meteorology of the Freie Universität Berlin. He published his research in peer-reviewed journals and presented it at conferences.
Dr. Dominik Renggli got his PhD in natural sciences from the Freie Universität Berlin in 2011. He holds a MSc in environmental sciences and an MAS in Management, Technology and Economics from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zürich.
