Underwriter responsible for Middle East Markets. In July 2019 he was appointed to Head Engineering Large Risk, managing and steering Swiss Re's global portfolio of complex and large Facultative Engineering risks. In 2023 he joined Swiss Re's Engineering Underwriting team for the London Market as senior Fac and Treaty Underwriter.
Before joining Swiss Re he worked as chief engineer in the tunnelling and railway department of Basler & Hofmann Consulting Engineers Group. In his prior position with Deutsche Bahn (DB) he was responsible for the analysis of infrastructure operations and maintenance processes. Denis started his career as project engineer with reputable consulting company Krebs & Kiefer working on the design and management of manifold types of civil projects, including buildings, bridges, tunnels, railways and stadiums.
Denis holds a master degree in civil engineering from Karlsruhe University (TH) and a management master degree.
