Beat Aeberhardt leads the Cat and Geo modelling team at Swiss Res's CatPerils Unit. In this role, he oversees the development of Swiss Re's proprietary global NatCat risk assessment framework (Ratos and MultiSNAP) and the geo risk platform used within Swiss Re. He has more than 15 years' experience in developing probabilistic NatCat models, tools and rating platforms.
Within the P&C CUO's Cat Perils unit, Beat leads a multinational team of NatCat and Geo experts. Prior to his current position, he held various NatCat modeling roles within Swiss Re, including heading the global Cat Perils R&D team. He also served as the lead developer of several probabilistic flood and storm surge models in his capacity as a flood specialist.
Beat Aeberhardt is a member of the board of directors at Oasis Loss Modelling Framework Ltd and holds a Masters degree in Rural Engineering from the ETH of Zurich and EPFL of Lausanne.
