Andrea Scascighini Chief Underwriting Officer Casualty CUO P&C Reinsurance

Andrea Scascighini, PhD is the Chief Underwriting Officer Casualty within P&C Re at Swiss Re, leading underwriting, pricing, steering and data & analytics for the global Casualty treaty business. Andrea has extensive experience in both analytical and underwriting roles, as well as in leading global teams. Andrea joined Swiss Re in 2002 and held various positions of growing responsibility. In his last role, he led the Casualty Portfolio Analytics & Steering activities of Swiss Re. He held roles in underwriting as Head Globals & France Casualty Treaty Desk, and before he served as Head Casualty Treaty Underwriting for US Large Clients segment out of Armonk, followed by leading our Regional & National Casualty UW team based in Zurich. Prior to that, he spent a few years as Senior Underwriter in Paris and as Casualty Desk Head in Zurich. Andrea is a Swiss citizen, is fluent in English, German, French and his native Italian and holds a PhD in applied mathematics from ETH Zurich.
