About the Role
As a Junior Associate in the Loss & Exposure Data Handling (LEDH) team, you'll play a business-critical role supporting underwriting and actuarial teams across Swiss Re's Corporate Solutions division. From extracting and validating complex datasets to meeting tight turnaround times and engaging with global stakeholders, this role puts you right at the heart of Property & Casualty insurance operations. It's a role where your attention to detail, analytical mindset, and commitment to quality will directly influence pricing, risk assessment, and underwriting decisions worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
Insurance & Operations
- Support P&C underwriting activities through accurate capture and validation of loss, exposure, and submission data
- Process end-to-end submissions in line with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), business rules, and operational controls
- Consistently meet Turnaround Times (TATs), SLAs, and quality benchmarks to ensure seamless service delivery
- Manage high-volume processing and time-sensitive business requests, including backlog prioritization
Data & Analytics
- Extract, cleanse, validate, and analyse large datasets from both structured and unstructured sources
- Identify and resolve data quality issues including inconsistencies, missing information, and duplicates
- Deliver accurate outputs and insights to support pricing, experience rating, and risk assessment activities
- Contribute to ad-hoc reporting, portfolio reviews, and analytical requests as needed
Stakeholder Engagement & Meeting Discipline
- Collaborate closely with Underwriters, Actuaries, and cross-functional teams across global regions
- Proactively communicate status updates and escalate risks, delays, or data issues in a timely manner
- Participate actively in meetings, document action items clearly, and ensure follow-ups are completed within agreed timelines
- Maintain a strong customer orientation and professional communication standards at all times
Continuous Improvement & Automation
- Identify operational pain points and contribute ideas and solutions to process improvement initiatives
- Support automation and efficiency projects using tools such as Excel, Python, and GenAI
- Participate in QC reviews, UAT cycles, and project rollouts, documenting key findings and learnings
About the Team
LEDH (Loss & Exposure Data Handling) is part of Data Curation & Reporting within Corporate Solutions at Swiss Re. The team works in close partnership with Underwriters, Actuaries, and global stakeholders to deliver accurate, high-quality loss and exposure data that underpins pricing, experience rating, risk assessment, and underwriting decisions. With a strong focus on turnaround time, service standards, and quality control, the team plays a pivotal role in enabling data-driven decision-making across the Property & Casualty insurance landscape.

We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:
- Strong MS Excel proficiency with demonstrated confidence in handling, analysing, and validating large datasets
- 1–2 years of experience in operations, analytics, data management, insurance, or a similar business support function
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Commerce, Mathematics, Statistics, Management, Data Analytics, or a related discipline
These are additional nice to haves:
- Knowledge of Python, SQL, MS Access, or Power BI for data processing and reporting
- Familiarity with GenAI tools and an interest in applying them to operational workflows
- Insurance or Reinsurance knowledge, particularly in Property & Casualty lines of business
- Experience working in a high-volume, deadline-driven operations environment with SLA/TAT accountability
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, including experience working with cross-functional or global teams
- A growth mindset — adaptable, positive, and eager to contribute to automation and continuous improvement initiatives
Our company has a hybrid work model where the expectation is that you will be in the office at least three days per week.
